Background

These are various assignments from my visual communication course. My goal was simply to learn basic graphic design and Adobe's creative suite.

Mock-up Event Poster

How fast can a newbie designer speedrun drafting a poster? About an hour.

I've had this Minecon poster in my head for a while, and learning Photoshop was the perfect excuse to create it. I love how it turned out.

$55 for a Meme

I'm sure there's good reason why marketers use memes as ads. However, among my people, it is an honored rite of passage to create an abomination when first using professional-grade image editing software. So when my first Photoshop assignment was an ad, I made this meme instead. I think I'd laugh if I saw it in the wild. And then probably crave a can of Sonic G-FUEL to help get me through the agony of final's week.

Gotta study fast.

And yes, there is a legitimate version, too. The bottom tagline needs adjusting, but overall, I'm happy with the result.

This was actually my first idea.

Event Flyer

This was created from scratch loosely following Hagen and Golombisky's "Works Every Time" layout. I wanted to make the information easy to read and make the important stuff stand out. I'm especially proud of how low-density the information looks.
